You know those little reminders on FB to tell you to wish your friends a Happy Birthday? Well today at the crack of dawn one popped up for you. Don't forget to wish Robert Hunt a Happy Birthday.  Not the appropriate Don't forget to wish Robert Hunt a Happy Heavenly Birthday. All that AI intervention and they still can't get it right.

I wandered through the day on autopilot waiting to feel something. It could not be a happy birthday wish with a cake full of candles. It can't be wrapping a few presents with colorful paper and an envelope with that crisp 100 dollar bill to make sure that gift was what you really wanted.

Instead bright and early we left that peaceful Airbnb and the magical Orcas Islands enveloped in fog to catch the ferry back to Seattle.

Your awesome sister reached an adult instilled milestone and closed on the purchase of a cute house along with her hubby. Trust me in this financial climate that is no easy feat. Insert proud mama grin. 

We opted for dinner in downtown Tacoma at the restaurant that you also enjoyed with them not so long ago after taking the train up to see them. Seems like yesterday and a million years ago all at the same time.

I guess at the end of the day I have come to realize that all holidays for the rest of my life until the end of my days can never be the same. The 33rd candle on your imaginary cake also just a figment of my own imagination.

Happy Heavenly Birthday son. See you on the flipside.
